 How many continents are there?
I always thought there were 6 continents from a socio-political perspective - Africa, Europe, South America, North America, Asia and Australia. Well, from a sports perspective it is 5 continents. I thought I was doing fine with that explanation, but my Chinese students won't buy the idea of six continents and certainly would not buy the idea of 7 continents as taught by others. They have been taught 5 continents only. I learnt something different. What is the deal with these continents? How many are there? I googled and got several conflicting answers. How do you answer this question? |
