Default Help: need examples of stories for the Pet Exam

Hi all.
I'm teaching a class of intermediate level adults that will be taking the PET exam soon.
In the written section of the exam there are 2 parts: grammar and use of English and compositions. The first is writing an e-mail to a friend and the second is a choice between writing about the advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city versus a small town (example topic) and writing a short story, with the help of a prompt i.e. "It was the best day of my life."
I cannot for the life of me find any models of narrative writing that the students can use. The course book doesn't provide any story writing examples and the Pet preparation book only provides practice in grammar and sentence transformation.
Helppp!!!! ;-)
