Yes, it is possible. here are some examples from a concordancer. In each case "on which" could be replaced by "where" :

...huge divan-like thrones as large as small beds, ON WHICH the sultans sat cross-legged.
...under the window, was a yellow painted bench ON WHICH the old woman sat,
...And it so happened that adjacent to a couch ON WHICH she had taken refuge was a small table
...a wooden crate on which stood the candle, a spread out blanket, and an unrolled bindle.
