Hello! We are hard at work developing a first-ever fiction series for intermediate to advanced adult English language learners that will teach various English expressions, such as idioms, phrasal verbs, and collocations through interactive narrative immersion. To do this, the books will take their inspiration from the gamebook tradition (think 'Choose Your Own Adventure' for grownups). Readers will become protagonists of a story, shaping the narrative as they read, and deciding how the story develops based on their comprehension of various expressions and phrases strategically placed throughout the book. The stories run the gamut of genres, from capers and thrillers to mysteries and adventures, and are set in present-day, realistic settings.
We generally do nonfiction, so this foray into doing novels for the education market is pretty exciting!
We have signed on four authors this year. These pilot books will be published in 2014 and we hope to produce three to four titles per year for the series. Our target market: Intermediate to advanced adult English language learners, ESL/ELL/TESOL schools/programs, and ESL/ELL/TESOL instructors.
