 Hello from California
Good Day to All,
I am looking forward to my new assignment to teach the Newcomer Center for my school. I have worked at a Title 1 school for six years and have taught with as high as 75% ELLs in mainstream classrooms. Now, I have elected to teach in a new program focusing on language acquisition for K-1 beginners. Our population was formerly very diverse with mulitple ethnicities, but has become predominately Hispanic in recent years. I look forward to bridging the communication gap with my new charges. I welcome any wisdom you wish to impart. I feel prepared in some ways and feel as if a novice is so many other ways. Glad to have this forum to consult with as I change my focus this year.
