having trouble with... :)
 
Hi, I have a question of mine too.

if I say: :Sorry I'm late. I had trouble finding your address or to find your address?"
which one is correct?

I had trouble (in) finding.

I think, and I could be wrong, that to have trouble takes 'in' as a collocation, and therefore any verb after it would be the -ing form.

'finding' sounds better to me but I think they are grammatically correct.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 'finding' is acting as a gerund versus 'to find', which is an infinitive...
