"How are you getting on at work?" "How are you getting on at work?" is 'get on' to mean 'get along' a Biritish English idiom? While it doesn't sound strange to mean I don't think I'd ever use it, especially with 'with.' "I'm not getting on with my mother in-law." |
Re: "How are you getting on at work?" Yes - for me it's the other way around. "getting along" to me sounds "American" in both contexts, especially the first. I wouldn't think twice if you said it to me, but I'd tend not to say it myself - I'd always use "get on" |
