Hello, sirs. I would like to improve my listening skill. I would like to watch free drama or movie with English subtitles through internet. Actually I know some websites about news or interviews, but I don't use those academic words when I socialize with someone from English spoken country.
If you know, would you mind telling me the address?

Have you tried renting DVD's? You usually have the option to turn ON subtitles. that way you can listen and read the English.

Free resources, i dont know of any where you will be able to find english movies/dramas with english subtitles.

maybe someone else knows of something...

I am from Japan and I have a computer made in Japan. So I can't see Korean DVDs because of regeon code.
In Japan, I studied English watching DVDs and they were playing an important role to improve my English.
Are there some websites that I can see free drama or movie even if it is without subtitle? If there are, could you tell me, please?

that is so strange that japan's region coding is lumped in with europe???

anyway, since you are in Korea, have you tried Video Rooms? you can usually find them in university areas as well as in the main entertainment parts of towns. they can be a little expensive though.

i used to know a website where you could watch tv from all over the world on your computer from korea and it was free. i cant remember the name but i will ask my friend for it. Note: i couldnt use the site on an Apple so if you have a Mac you might be out of luck with that site...

Sorry, I don't know any sites with free streaming of movies or TV shows :(

But I do know some websites with interesting radio-like programs:

www.npr.org is a news station BUT the Arts and Culture, Books and Music sections have really interesting topics.

Also BBC world service has lots of material aimed at English learners. Once I checked and they had music videos there, with explanations of key expressions. I can't find them today, though. Maybe if you check there weekly, they might have movie or TV show clips sometime.

Finally, one website I like to watch free shows at is worldlinktv but all the topics are political. Actually, all the topics are scary-political. I don't know if you are interested in politics, especially terrible American politics, but it is free video.

If I find anything better for you, I'll post it later.

Comedy TV online
 

I forgot about comedy central which has clips from many different comedy shows. Though comedy doesn't translate well and these shows might not be funny to you, it's free video and there are so many different ones in the drop-down menu that you might find something you like. My favourite is the fake news show The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Yesterday I found a new set of listening activities with vocabulary and comprehension questions at cbc esl. CBC is Canada's national public broadcaster, so naturally all the topics are about Canada. Still, there might be some topic that interests you. Who knows? :D

No Eric, I don't know of any website that you can get this kind of movie. DVD is definately the way to go, and almost everything can now be rented at your local Blockbuster.
