This time I'd like to know, please, how to say "couloir" in English. it's the narrow long space between rooms. not a hall? A hall is more like a square space. Thank you, It would be really kind of you if you answer me urgently

I guess you mean corridor.

Thanks a lot. I thought the word was used mainly in hospitals, or gloomy buildings used as offices not for houses.

In England we call it a hall - this doesn't have to be a room. The hall is the place between rooms and a corridor is more for buildings other than houses, like you say above - though not necessarily gloomy ones!

great i have to go back and correct again my pupils house plans and earase the word corridor and leave the word hall. thank you Stanley . I didn't mean any offence with the word "gloomy". It's just that I don't like hospitals and the word "corridor" makes me think of them
