Hi everybody and especially hi Susan,

I have one question,could you please tell me what does "to give a punch" mean in this sentence:

"That is something that will give their brand a bit more punch".

It means which will cause it to have more impact, greater force or effect. It's a metaphorical use of the word punch.
Here are some other examples which I found on the net :

His speech packed quite a punch.
These cocktails taste quite innocent, but they really pack a punch!
For big flavor, a blend of cumin, chili powder, coriander, cayenne, and black pepper packs a punch.


Notice the common collocation with the verb pack, here meaning have or carry
