Default KINDLY and PLEASE in imperative sentences.

Dear teachers and members:

I have read that PLEASE can be replaced by KINDLY in a sentence, but I would like to know if in the following sentences and in imperative sentences it is possible.

1°) Help me, please.

2°) Please, help me.

Can the above sentences be replaced them by these ones?

a) Help me, kindly.

b) Kindly, help me.

It seems to me that KINDLY cannot be replaced by PLEASE in these two sentences as well as in these cases.

I ask for your help and assistance in this confusion.

Default Re: KINDLY and PLEASE in imperative sentences.

Both pairs of sentences would be correct and roughly equivalent if you prefaced them with "could you". As they stand, the 2nd pair sounds somewhat incomplete.

Kindly and please are adverbs that have some overlap of meaning depending on context.
It may help you to look carefully at the meaning of both words:
Please is a polite way of asking that a favor be done,
Kindly asks that the favor be done out of kindness, which can give the sentence a slightly different meaning.

Hopefully that helps a little...
