Directed Drawing.

Directed Drawing is an activity that involves the teacher leading the class in drawing a simple picture.
I have done it with a class when each student has their own chalk board, but you can also do it using paper and pencils and crayons.

The beauty of this type of activity is you use descriptive words as you tell the class what to draw. They can review and practice vocabulary and use their listening skills.
eg.
Start out with a large egg shape, oval in the middle of the page and demonstrate.
Then draw a circle for a head, add two small circles for the eyes etc. Or you could use squares and triangles to create a house or apartment building. Then you could direct which colours to use or have the students choose their own and write a description of their picture and the colours of the objects they have drawn.
