Film for classroom use that helps both students and teachers
 

My short animated film, Paper Words, is a useful and entertaining tool for ESL teachers and students in the classroom. A young English learner, Mei, is placed in a Midwest school where few language resources are available to help her. Facing cultural differences as well as language challenges, Mei is unable to communicate her needs to her teacher. This short film deals with issues many immigrant kids are familiar with: alienation, conformity, and assimilation. Paper Words is a great icebreaker for new ESL students, no matter their country of origin. This film was recently screened at the annual California Association of Bilingual Educators conference.
