I've started incorporating things from reality shows into my classes, such as a voting process for who did the best job after the class has given presentations. Anybody have further ideas for this theme?
I've heard of a teacher doing something like Fear Factor with his students during a food lesson. He had four boxes, one with candy and 3 others with things the kid didn't like.
It actually sounded like a lot of prep, but your voting system sounds good. What happens to those who are voted out?
Well, that's the thing, I don't want to vote students out because it's part of a confidence building exercise. So I was wondering how to make it more edgy, because the students really love these kinds of shows.
I get my sts to write a short story (no more than 10 sentences) and get them to act it out as they read it (I sometimes do this in small groups). I let the students vote and the best one gets to line up first.
