text message decoding games for teens

Hi all,
I seem to be haunting the boards a lot these days! ;-)
I'm going to be doing a lesson on modern manners with my teen SS. The context is using your mobile phone in public. The grammar focus are modals must should and have to (obligation).
I was thinking of sprucing the lesson up a bit by adding a game on text message lingo at the end and thought of writing extracts of pop songs in text message speech and have the SS decode them. However, I think it could be a little flat (i.e. to easy for them) any ideas on how to inject some competition in there? Thanks :D

Thank you makao school,
I did my lesson already (I found a lesson on text messaging and adapted it ).
It was quite successful (although with teens it's hard to decode their opinions).
I'll save the link though, it may come in handy for another lesson :-)

Why not make that the warm up to a game where they have to convert lyrics into text message speech.

You could have a prize for the most text message speech (total) and a prize for the most used in a single sentence. Maybe even a creative prize for a group or student that made up their own.
