Default Entering THe USA

I have a student who is going to the States next week. She has a pretty low level of English and I'd like to do a roleplay with her on what will happen when she arrives at JFK. I've been looking on the net for a list of questions the immigration officials will ask, but can't find anything. (I'm guessing along the lines of Where are you staying?, What is the purpose of your visit? etc Does anyone know if there's a list of set questions, and if so where I can find them.

many thanks

I recently returned to the US from another rout. After he gets off the plane there will be an interview where they can ask a lot of questions. For me, they were, 'Where have you been?', 'What were you doing there?, 'Did you bring back any plants or animals?'.

I know they will ask him what is in his bags -- food items like plants and fish for sure. They will likely ask him why he is entering the U.S. and how long he is going to stay. Good luck.

Lightbulb Re: Entering the USA

I don't know if this person is a member here but there is a lesson on that here:
Airport English: Getting Through Customs The custom's officer airport role play sheet covers most of the questions I've ever been asked upon returning to the USA.

(But then again, I even get confused as to what custom line I should be standing in at times..)

Thanks! The student in question is there now so I guess she didn't have too many problems. I'll keep this page the next time i do an airport roleplay.
