Default Post a recipe from the country you are in

Hi guys,
I'd like to add to my recipe collection. If you have a recipe from the country that you are currently residing in, please post it here. I'll start with Pad Thai as I'm in Thailand right now. Enjoy

Pad Thai

Makes 2 servings

Ingredients
12 Jumbo Shrimp
3 oz. Dry Rice Noodle (3 - 5 mm)
2 oz. Fresh Bean Sprouts
1 oz. Chopped (1") Green Onion
fish sauce to taste
3 oz. Oyster Sauce
3 Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Tablespoons Preserved Turnip
2 Tablespoons Crushed Peanuts
1 Tablespoon Paprika
2 Large Eggs
1 Teaspoon Red Chili (if you like it HOT)
1/2 Lemon
Directions
Pre-soak the noodles for at least 30 minutes in room temperature water. They should be soft yet firm.

Heat and season the wok. Add the Shrimp and grill for 90 seconds. Add the Eggs. When the eggs are not quite finished, add the Noodles, Sugar, Peanuts, Turnips and Paprika. Stir Fry for approximately 45 seconds or until all ingredients are mixed together and the noodles are wilted. Add the Fish Sauce, Oyster Sauce and vinegar. Follow with the Bean Sprouts, Green Onions and Red Chili. Stir fry quickly ensuring everything in mixed together. If you like wet noodle dishes de glaze with 5 oz. water stock. If you like firmer dry noddles de glaze with only 2 oz. water stock.

Place on Serving plate and garnish with more Bean Sprouts and a Lemon wedge.

A very simple but extremely delicious dish common in Japan called Miso Soup.

Miso Soup
Hi first of all put fish stock in pan ready.
Now cut daicon and carrots and put in pan. Add water.
boil.
cut up mushrooms (shitake). put them in pot.
Cut up and put in tofu.
Put in seaweed. (wakeme)
Mix in the miso paste. Taste to test.
Finished

Here is a video link to the recipe if you want

Hi

Problem with the miso soup because you first have to make the fish stock.

Then you need to know what daicon is.

How about this for the health conscious:

Chop up a random quantity of aubergines, onions, or garlic, and maybe some peppers, or perhaps courgettes, and put them in a wok with a bit of water in the bottom and a lid on. Watch out not to be too heavy handed with the pepper and completely ruin all that effort chopping. Let it all steam away in there for about 20 mins. Do remember to stir it at least once in the 20 minutes, and do remember that you are cooking in the first place so you don't have to spend ages scraping the Carbon 14 off the pan afterwards.

Very healthy eating like that with no cooked oils but use water instead and lots of flavouring.
