Using Second Life to teach ESL & EFL
 

Have you guys experienced it? I have. lol. I have my own place in Second Life where people can come and learn English. Regretably, it's been a while since I last logged in. :( What have your experiences been if you have been in there?

I've heard about second life but I have never actually visited. I don't know much about it really. What can you do there?

It's amazing, really. It really lives up to its name in that it is, literally, a second life for people. You can build your own offices, buy and sell land, convert linden dollars (its currency) into real USD, conduct classes and charge for them, etc. Basically, you can do anything there.

Currently, there is a big debate going on regarding copyright infringement and Second Life as many people are just selling stuff in Second Life, and, turning it around and getting real-life currency for it.

I've taught a few classes on there. It was really interesting!
