When will you go home?

So, when, if ever, will you go back to your country of original residence?

My wife and I plan on going back in a little less than 3 years, maybe.

It's been almost 10 years since I moved to Japan for a few years :)

It doesn't look like I'm ever moving back.

If you don't mind me asking, how is it in Japan? I'm in Korea and I have always wondered how it would be to work there. I hear that people own their own visas. Also, that the cost of living is quite high.

Japan is great but I haven't been anywhere else, so i can't compare.

Cost of living is high here, but pay is good. There are some horror stories with some schools and agencies but for the most part people seem to be happy with their experience.

As far as the visa goes, they definately are hung out in front of you. I think the worst an employer can do is report to the immigration office that you no longer work for them, once you left, but I don't think anyone would be bothered to do that.

Is that what you meant be 'own your own visa'?
