Default Ciao!

Greetings from Italy!

I'm Serena, I'm 23 and I just started teaching ESL to kindergarten kids.
I'm new to teaching and this site has given me lots of help in the time-consuming task of lesson planning. Yet this job's proving wonderful and it surely is worth the effort.

Reading your forum I decided to join to share some tips and experiences - and of course to "steal" ideas from people more expert than me

Ciao torta di mele,

Welcome. I'm in Italy too (Sardinia to be precise). Where are you, and are you having fun?

Clive

North-east, Veneto, about 50km from Venice. I'm getting more experienced and starting to have fun... though I'm a little bit worried about end of school year recital

I teach Kindergarten, what do you teach?

Oh, the recital. I know it well. To be honest, I stopped taking part in the preparation of the recitals because from the end of April onwards they did little else. Day after day of practice, getting orders barked at them, trying to keep the kids quiet that weren't needed at that particular moment . . and generally getting stressed out (them more than me, poor things). Funnily enough, the fact that I haven't prepared anything for the end of year show has come up for discussion just this week - and I'm sticking to my guns :-) (Mind you, the kids have carried on doing their English lessons with me while in the other subjects they've done nothing other than the recital, so nobody can complain really!)

I also teach primary school, junior school, secondary school and university - a bit of everything really.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. Keep up the good work!

Ciao, a presto.
