Default Hello from Midwest USA

I am interested in teaching English in China or Taiwan - I have a BS in Education and some graduate courses and several years of various experiences in teaching different age groups. Have been thinking about teaching overseas for many years - but always had other obligations- until now - so am looking for any info I can for teaching overseas. By the way I will be 50 years of age soon - hope this is not a problem finding a teaching job overseas - some ads do specify age (most people think I am younger than my age). I plan to read your forums for any and all information I can. Glad to meet you all.

Hi chinabound,

I've been in China (Shanghai) for almost a year. I don't think that age is a real problem. Out of the 14 or so teachers, at my school, there are two who are over 50 (one is 60).

I'm at the other end of the scale. I have to add a few years to my actual age.

Hi,

Here is the link to the podcast that we did with a teacher who taught in China.

You don't need an iPod to listen. Just click the "Listen to the Show" link.
