| | HI all I am a mom to three wonderful children- boy 10, boy 6 and girl 10 months old. I found this site by chance. I was looking for something to challange my boys. My oldest one tested post highschool last year and my younger one even though in first grade can read at a 3rd -4th grade level. I want to be able to continue challanging them here at home. |

| | Re: HI all Hi mamagg, welcome to the site.
Is it difficult to teach your own kids at home? I mean, do they listen to you well or just complain (like I would have done at their age)? I don't have kids yet, but I've wanted to know what teaching one's own would be like. |

Quote mamagg It all depends on child and the day. somedays its best to play games and save the book learning for others. | Wise answer! I guess I'll have to have kids first and then see what happens. |

| | Re: HI all Writing stories and then publishing them as a book using your computer is a great activity for kids, They can illustrate their stories and love seeing their name as the Author and Illustrator.
Here is another idea that might excite them.
There is also a site that published kids stories, called Kid Pub http://www.kidpub.org/kidpub/
Here is their blurb.
Welcome to Kidpub, the largest collection of stories by children on the Internet (and maybe in the real world, too). We've been on the web since 1995, and our database holds just over 46,000 stories written by and for children.
Hope these ideas are useful to you
