Default Hi from India - any advice?

Hi everyone

I am a Kiwi/Aussie currently teaching teacher trainees English in India. I have taught for many years but never ESL!

My main problem is trying to vanquish ingrained bad habits in ESL learners who have spoken grammatically incorrect English for YEARS!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

look forward to hearing from you

JSM

Tough battle. - - > old dog, new tricks

As long as the students errors don't impede understanding or make them look incompetent, I wouldn't measure my success or failure rate by them. (unless that's what you were called in to do.)

Good luck! It's an awesome task to teach someone a language.
