| | New to Board & Teaching ESL Hi All,
Jay Here.
I'm new to this board and to teaching ESL.
I will start teaching on the 13th of September at an Adult Education Program the church I attend is starting. We will also be offering GED Classes and Life Skills training.
The ESL section is sort of a mix of all the above, in that my assistant and I have to teach many of the other aspects of the program, only to students who, for the most part, are rather new to the English language.
As I have never taught ESL before, I would like assistance in finding a good starting point and also with materials.
Thanks,
Jay |

I would suggest separating your introduction and your teaching question into 2 different threads. That way, people will know how to reply...
Best thing to do is post your teaching question in the Teaching ESL Forum.

This is a great place to get help... a lot of help.
I would also recommend you build your personal learning network (PLN). ESLHQ is a great place to start. I would also join Twitter as the EFL ESL community is A+ there.
If you don't know much about PLNs, I've written an introductory article. Personal Learning Networks | Heads Up English | ESL Lessons | |
