Default new to ESL / going to Vietnam

Hi all,

My name is Danny, and like the title of the post says I'm new to teaching. I just recently got my TEFL license online, and managed to find work as a volunteer. I am going to be volunteering at a school called HueHelp in Vietnam. I have never been to Vietnam and do not know what to expect. I am pretty nervous about the whole thing. I leave the states on June 26.
At HueHelp I will be working at an orphanage in the mornings then at a school in the late afternoon. I get paid about 70 to 100 dollars a month! But, the hotel i will be staying at is giving the volunteers a break, and lets us stay there for 5 dollars a day and we get three meals for 3 bucks.
Anyway, has anyone herd of the organization HueHelp? Its a British organization and I'm going to be the only American there.
Wish me luck that I dont run out of money and end up having to go back to my parents for help (knock on wood!)

Welcome to the site and I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience.

Maybe when you get there you'll find other ways to support yourself or a better monthly balance. +100 -150 won't last too long - You also need to assume you will get tired of eating at the same place 3 times a day, every day and you might want to go out and do something every now and then.

Thanks, Im gana do my best. The reason I am doing this for basically negative dollars is because im picky about where I want to go and all i have is a 60 hour online TEFL license
Im going to take a big risk by doing this. I get nervous thinking about it but its what i want to do so thats that. Im hoping i can go from this volunteer position to a better paying position without going back to the states in between. Im going to gather all the documents I will need so hopefully it works out.

Dan
