Thumbs up not yet a teacher

Hello
I'm considering going back to school to become certified to teach ESL. I have a MA in linguistics, and have done a little bit of volunteer work teaching ESL...I loved it. I'd stay here in S. California to teach (rather than going abroad). I have questions! Do you plan your own lessons, or are you given a guideline? Would it bother you if someone came to observe your class? I'm thinking about going to my local jr. college to sit in -if the instructor wouldn't mind. Finally, what do you enjoy the most about teaching ESL?
Thank you so much!!

It really depends on the school as to whether they give you a book to use or you make up your own lessons.
New teachers observe a few classes when they first arrive. I have presentations and observations by management, too.
I teach kids and i really enjoy playing games with them. I find that kids really show you that your doing a good job.

You should talk to the teacher if there is one at the school. i think this is really important as you can get some reaction and news about the job. I would be very careful about picking your job as it will be your first job. Why don't you place up the job ad here if you want some people to check it over for you?
