Default Copyright

Hi Eric, I'm back after being somehow distracted by other tasks. The site looks as wonderful as ever.
I've seen some of the worksheets made with your worksheet wizard on other teacher's websites. I somehow had the idea that in a way the site had the copyright, although I suppose the concept here is a bit sticky to say the least, since we teachers make the worksheets (which we wouldn't be able to do without the site- a snake biting its tail)
Anyway, I don't think it is very loyal to make your worksheets here and take them to other sites. I guess it's just an opinion and a debatable one. I just wanted to know what you think about it, that's all!
Best regards and keep it up!

Hi,

Thanks for sharing. No, this is not cool. It's copyright violation.

Would you mind sharing the sites with me either here or PM if you don't want to publically say. I will contact them and ask them to remove the content.

Thanks,
Eric

This is a big problem with sites that allow file sharing.

If you make a worksheet using a program, it's still the property of the site that made the printable. If the site gives permission for that resource to be redistributed, then that's a differernt story. But, I don't know of a site that allows you do distribute printables made with their resources.

People should give credit where credit is due. Doesn't that sound right?

Well, you are right. But I guess it's all a matter of herds and black sheep, or rotten apples or the simile you like best - a pity, really, with such loads of good work being done by so many teachers.

Well, this isn't acedemia we're talking about. It's like scanning a page from a workbook/textbook and posting it on your site. Even referencing the source wouldn't avoid a copyright violation.
