| | Wow, talk about blatant! Eric - you might want to shoot an email over to these guys (link removed)
They have a few sets of flashcards posted that are right from Free Flashcards | Free ESL Flashcards | Free Printable Flash Cards (minus the site markings.)
To all,
If anyone else sees stolen materials from eslHQ or other sites, please report it. These people are profitting in one way or another off stolen materials. I don't know of any site out there that allows their materials to be reposted on another site.

| | Re: Wow, talk about blatant! Yeah, I actually stumbled upon that because I saw somewhere else a post stating the site had great flashcards and some sort of 'flashcard club'. That didn't sound very good. Turns out I was right.
I can't understand building a site if you don't have content. Then if you do bother to build a site which takes hours and big sites hundreds to thousands of hours, why would you risk all that by publishing stolen content ??? |

| | Re: Wow, talk about blatant! It's horrible. you aren't the only victum at that site. It looks like the whole Halloween section is from a subscription site enchantedlearning.com, AND the site has not only removed enchantedlearning's site markings but added their name to the materials! |

| | Re: Wow, talk about blatant! Cool! I think I'll go straight to Google and his host if I find anything of mine on there.
He's got another mirror-ish site as well. Pretty much the same content.
It looks like every single printable item was stolen from somewhere ... |

| | Re: Wow, talk about blatant! Why can't we start a list of websites that we straight up hate and list the reasons why, then put the somewhere on our sites.
I'm sure our sites get enough traffic coming through our sites where if we all joined in one resounding voice and vocally reject these sites, it might do some damage to their flow of visitors?
Just a thought... |

| | Re: Wow, talk about blatant! Well, then we'd just be advertising for them and that's why I didn't list the other 'mirror' site. Why send people there?
I agree that it might be good to let others know what these sites (and their owners) really are, but i don't want to help them in any way.
For the same reason I'm going to edit the first post and remove the URL |

| | Re: Wow, talk about blatant! So, how do you let people know about the site without posting the site or providing a link to them?
I mean, if I wanted to let people know about a crappy English company like Interac, and I provided a list of reasons I thought they were crappy, also providing a link to prove just how crappy they really are I would think would be beneficial over making the person reading your opinions have to go research the company's website. In my personal opinion... |

Hi Eric,
Can you PM me the link to the site? I'd like to take a look for any HUE materials. I also like to keep a file on sites that steal resources, as every so often I check if anything of mine is there.
Thanks. |

| | Re: Wow, talk about blatant! I think you did the right thing Eric...just deal with the matter and move on. I had a blogger copy and paste 8 of my article word for word in his blog. I emailed him...no responce so I faxed and email Google and they removed the articles within a week.
Basically copy cats will always be one step ahead of the real creators. Yes it is very frustrating when someone copies your stuff and tries to profit from it, but in the long run they wont get far.
Cheers,
Diana
PS: I am new to this forum but I have to tell you that I am falling in love with it. What a wonderful resource for teachers and students alike. Kudos Eric.!!
