Default Contract with students

Hi...
I'm gonna start second part of my teaching practice soon and I was thinking about introducing a contract. I haven't done it with the group I teach at work so it's new for me. I would be really grateful if you wrote here titles of books where the topic of contracts is covered. Thank you in advance

Carl Rogers, Freedom to Learn (published by Prentice-Hall I think). The one I've got is old and is called "Freedom to Learn for the 80's" but I think various updated versions have come out since.

Blue Eyed Kitty, not sure if you are looking for a theme or topic about contracts in business etc or whether you are asking for a form of contract when you start some teaching with some new students. If it is the latter, I prefer to set a key of responsibilities for the student involved and then make sure they understand rather than waste unnessesary time later on.

If you are looking for contracts to introduce within your classes I could suggest looking at several contracts;

a. Employment Contract
b. Tennant Contract
c. Business Contract

I hope this gets some ideas flowing.

I've been researching something quite different this morning but by chance came across these web references :

http://www.timesaversforteachers.com/index_page0015.htm gives a sample teacher-student contract, while http://eqi.org/tscont.htm gives a critique of another.

I don't think the next two are exactly the same type of contract that you're thinking about, but they might be interesting in terms of how to establish contracts in general. The first is about behaviour contracts with younger learners ,and this also has further links. I also wrote a short article about how I once used a learning contract usefully here.

But Carl Rogers remains the guru. I would recommend his book to anyone who ever wants to set foot in a classroom by the way.
