Default Help with outdoors esl one on one lessons

Hi, I am a teacher struggling to get a 7 year old Italian girl talking before going to a summer camp in US.(not an ESL camp) Right now, I am looking at a possible number of 2 weeks of 4 hour nonstop lesson every day. The mom has no idea what she wants from me except miracles in a short time period...
Anybody have any idea about some outdoor scavenger hunt activities or esl conversation games games??? Please help!!!

Make sure you visit this website because it will really help you teach speaking to the girl (and other skills too). There are many free resources.

Thanks!

You can make a check list of things to find.
Make a list of other things you find.
Write down what 3 things are doing.
Write down 3 colors and note the items as well.
Find 3 kinds of food. Where were they?

A walk sounds like a great idea if you can change it up each time. Also, it could break up the lesson nicely. I'd just make sure to have a specific idea in mind for what target structure you'd like to focus on with the list. However, on the walk, let all of the stimuli spark any conversation.

Hello,

I would get her in situations that she will encounter at the summer camp. PLay some sports and go over the vocabulary. This will kill some time and she will have fun while she is learning. Pretend that you are in the cafeteria and talk about the words she will need to use in terms of asking for food. Go out on a lake, or any water, and give her vocabulary one would need to speak in that situation. Good luck!

What about teaching her some vocabulary using the Oxford Picture Dictionary?
