Book for short/intensive course

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone has used a book for shorter/intensive courses (3-6 months)? Most coursebooks are stretched over 1-2 years however if students are limited by time and money are there any books that are designed for a shorter course?

What levels are you teaching? I know from my own language study that I was usually given a teacher-made packet of worksheets and short grammar explanations, readings, etc, but it was very specifically tailored so there was no "fluff" in the lesson, vocabulary or otherwise...

I really liked Touchstone by Cambridge for teaching low to mid-level English classes. It worked well for a 3 month course I had. It also comes with a lot of quality supplements and supplement ideas, and I found the listening quite natural. It is designed for younger students, perhaps 20-25 year-olds but would definitely work for older students as well.
