I've run a couple of my lessons for Halloween with my students. They all seem to have gone well, and I only wish I had more classes to teach for Halloween. Sadly no costumes, parties, or making a fool of myself with the students.

Re: halloween lessons

My 45 minute Halloween Lesson for 1st or 2nd year learners (age group 7 to 9yrs), in fact I do it on any day during Halloween week not just Halloween itself:
After the usual review of the previous week I prompt "do you know what day it is on (say Friday)?" - they all know. Then I elicit or pre-teach some Halloween words and show flashcards. Follow up with flashcard activities to re-inforce the vocabulary. Flashcard Slam is a good activity. Then the students sit down and do a worksheet, e.g. color a jack-o-lantern or do a matching activity or a match and write activity (I leave the flashcards out in the classroom so the kids can walk around and look at the words before they write them down). At the end of the lesson, the kids do "trick or treat" with me and get some candy. It is usually a fun lesson.
