new class, high beginner, any ideas

hello everyone,
I'm pleased to join u here.
I'm a new teacher and this is my first experience.
I'm going to start a new class with high beginners ( in fact, they are not ) but i have to teach them as high.
i dont have the syllabus yet.So, i'm free with the start.
can u help me ?

and i have another Q
i have to teach three books Grammar, Reading and Writing, Listening and Speaking
the class is 2 hours and a half
i'm free if i teach them the three books during the class or each one everyday
my Q is?
WHAT DO U THINK IS BETTER COMBINE THEM IN THE SAME LECTURE ?
IF YES WHAT I HAVE TO START WITH?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Re: new class, high beginner, any ideas

I taught Beginning High for about 3.5 years. I think it's a good idea to spend the first 1-2weeks on activities which are not too hard for the students, but also will let you see what skills they have in listening, speaking, reading, grammar, writing and vocabulary. Are the students adults? How many hours a week do you have them? Did you try any icebreakers?
