The order in which to teach tenses

Hi,
I have just started teaching one-to-one classes with a student who has only previously learned the present tense. Which tense would you advise me to teach next: a past or future tense?
Does anybody have a list they could share with me with the best order in which to teach tenses.
Thank you in advance.

Re: The order in which to teach tenses

It will depend on why your student is learning English and you may have to adapt this list to suit their needs, but in general I would say it's going to be:

present simple, present continuous
past simple
be going to/will
past continuous

and then the perfect tenses.
