Teaching Wages

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has information on average wages for ESL teachers?

I am especially looking for Canada.

Thanks,

Dave

Do you mean for teachers in a school or teaching privately?

Teaching at a private language centre like Berlitz, Hansa, or International House.

I am the director of a smaller language centre. I went to hire a teacher, and she told me the wage I offered wasn't enough.

I was wondering what type of wage she thinks she is going to get working at one of these type of schools.

Over $20 an hour? I'd like to know the school that offers that....

Whenever I take a part-time gig at a private English school here in China (places like TEFL or EF) I generally make around 100rmb for an hour. After conversion that's around 15 USD.
