Thailand

Hi,
Does anyone know the minimum requirements for teaching english in Thailand? My brother is a Registered Nurse (Midwife) but would like to teach English in Thailand. He is thinking that a certificate in TESOL or TEFL (issued in Australia) is enough. He has University degrees in nursing.
Thanks
Barbara

Hi

I am currently living in Thailand and working as a TEFL teacher for the past two years
My information is that as long as you have a recognised degree in any subject to prove that you have a suitable background of education you can teach here,
I obtained a TEFL certificate here in Thailand
I am sure that the Australian TEFL will be acceptable. There are many agencies here to help you get the work

Thanks Barry,
It is so good of you to reply so quickly! I will pass that information on to my brother and suggest that he gets an Australian TEFL certificate and try to get some experience teaching TEFL here so that he will have it in his portfolio.
Thanks again,
