Urgent help needed!!
 

I have to use minimal pairs for auditory discrimination and production of /t/ and /d/. The minimal pairs must end in /t/ and /d/. The trouble is i can't find any minimal pairs on the net. I will be working with a young child (around p2/p3 age) and so pictures of the words would be very useful.

Can anybody help me think of minimal pairs ending in 't' and 'd' that i could find pictures for??

I did a search and found these words:

Since the vocab is so random with minimal pairs it's going to be hard to teach with pictures. Just focus on listening/speaking and don't worry about learning the words at this time.

I always just make them up. You don't have to worry about them being actually real-life words, they are only for phonics practice.

Thanks for your help guys but i needed the words to end in /t/ and /d/. Syllabale initial word initial position would have been fine to think up words for but syllable finial word final is always a little more tricky, especially if you need to find pictures too. I managed to think of enough though, so no problems there. Unfortunatley they do have to be real words as i am doing informal assessments and it would not work accordingly otherwise.

I used:

card / cart
sad / sat
mad / mat
foot / food
bad / bat
pot / pod
sead / seat

I got pictures from clip art and google images. I will put them onto flash cards and put them on the site, sometime in the near future, for anyone else who may find them of use. :D
