vocab books?

Can anyone recommend good vocab and/or idiom books for a high beginner/low intermediate adult class? I'm looking for something to use as the class text.
Thanks for any help!

I've used "Can You Believe It? stories and idioms from real life" by Oxford. It's pretty good. It's loaded with useful idions in interesting true stories.

There are three books in the series, I believe. I've used books one and two. There are questions about the readings, pictoral representations for story retelling, questions about you section, write about something section and a cloze activity. There are CDs/tapes for the books and you can do dictation, but I didn't get the CDs.

I've used Attitudes Through Idioms in class and you could definitely use it as a class text book. Each unit has a story and tons of exercises to practice the 10-15 idioms introduced in that unit. All idioms in a unit are categorized by the language used like, idioms using color (ex. green thumb) or using animals (ex. raining cats and dogs).

It's definitely worth a look....
