Warm-ups for Adults

Tonight I have my first class teaching adults. For six months I have taught kids from kindergarten age through to end-of-high-school, and for every class (except the kindergarteners) I have started with a Hangman, using a word from the lesson. This seems a bit pathetic for adults though. What's another quick and simple first-up warm-up I can use as a regular exercise for grown-ups? Or do they like silly little games just as much as the kids?
Thank you!

A lot of the activities that work with children will work with adults. It's important to know the level, of course. It's also important to give an activity that encourages everyone to speak as much as possible, preferably in pairs or groups to increase the talk time of the students.

I've written an article, which you can find here: The Importance of Warming Up Students | Heads Up English | ESL EFL Lesson Plans

Good luck.

I find the adults love the games I do with the kids! Hangman is great.
I also do spidergrams to recycle vocab from the previous lesson or to elicit it for the new one.
Tic tac toe is nice too, with each box a different category.

You might try simple personality tests like you find in some magazines. You know the ones...given such and such situation, would you A, B or C? And then it interprets their answers.

I find that those usually go over pretty well, and put everyone in a light, happy mood.
