Your very first class... Do you remember your very first class? How did it go? Were you nervous or excited? Well prepared or did you wing it? I remember mine. After my 2 weeks of training with my new company I was thrown into the deep end with 37 hours of classes a week at a cell phone company. Boy was I in for some hard work. I remember getting dressed that morning and worrying about what to wear; trying to present my self as professional but comfortable all at the same time. I had 6 adults in my first class (these were all adult classes) and I remember being so nervous. But once we started it went really well. It was a hard job to start off with though, with so many hours, but I think I am a better teacher now because of it. :) |
Re: Your very first class... Oh man, I'd much prefer to NOT remember it. I had barely any experience teaching EFL. I was just handed a book and thrown in to the wolves! I remember being really nervous about the whole thing. Now, I just walk in and do my thing. After 5 years, I pretty much have it down-packed. I'll never forget the first book I used: Up and Away What a terrible book for what I was teaching. |

Re: Your very first class... In the moment it was pretty scary, teaching my first class, but now that I back it wasn't so bad. :) |
