Here is an example of a compound sentence: He went to the store and he went to the park.

Question: If I took out the repeated pronoun (he) in the second half of the sentence, does it still keep the title "compound sentence"? (He went to the store and went to the park.)

Or would this now be a simple sentence with a compound predicate only?
