I want ... I would like ...
 

This is a worksheet for intermediate or pre-intermediate students who would like to get some practice writing out a different way of saying the same thing.

For example:

a. I want to eat some food. (informal statement)
b. I would like to eat some food. (formal statement)

This worksheet has 10 sentences for students to complete from "I want to ..." to "I would like to ...".

The worksheet can also be complemented by a further game, such as the use of flashcards of food, clothes or jobs and then students have to react one by one when you flash them a card.

Example:

1. I would like to be a Fireman. (Job Flashcard - Fireman)
2. I would like to buy some jeans. (Clothes Flashcard - Jeans)

etc etc.

Then you could say one sentence and then a student has to say the opposite statement:

Example:

1. I would like to eat some pizza. (Teacher)
2. I want to eat some pizza. (Student)
