Canadian Connection is a Toronto based consulting agency that helps teachers locate ESL positions in South Korea. Owned and operated by a former ESL teacher with more than 8 years of Korean experience, we are dedicated to turning your decision to teach in ‘the land of the morning calm’ into a positive transition and experience that you will remember for years to come.

The majority of our positions are in public schools, working as an ESL teacher. We have placements in elementary, junior high, and high schools. We can also send teachers to various locations throughout the country from very small, rural towns to large metropolitan cities. POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR APRIL:

Jeollanamdo Provincial Office of Education Public Schools

Job Conditions
Locations and School type: Mokpo (Elementary school) Sinan Island (Middle school) Gurye (Middle school) Haenam (Middle school) Goheung (Middle school) Jangheung (Girls middle school) Jindo (Middle school)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00
Classroom Hours: 22 teaching hours per week, overtime a possibility
Vacation: 5 weeks + national holidays and additional 1 week home leave if you stay for a second year
Salary: 1,900,000 to 2,400,000 Korean won per month
Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
School Type: Elementary, Middle and High School
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.
Airfare: roundtrip supplied (Teachers pay for one way airfare to Korea and are reimbursed during the first month. Teachers are then provided with a one way ticket home at the end of the contract)
Start dates: April 18th with a one week orientation
Contract Length: 1 year with option to renew

High School in Icheon city (Gyeonggi province)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00

Salary: 2,100,000 to 2,400,000 Korean won per month
Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
School Type: High School
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.

Private Institute in Seoul (Seocho-gu)

Job Conditions
Locations: Seocho district in Seoul
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 7:00
Classroom Hours: 25-30 teaching hours per week
Vacation: 2 weeks + national holidays
Salary: 2,100,00-2,300,000 Korean won per month
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
School Type: Private institute (elementary students)
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.
Airfare: roundtrip supplied
Start dates: May 11th (1 position) June 22nd (1 position)
Contract Length: 1 year with option to renew

Incheon Training Centre (Incheon Metropolitan City)

Job Conditions
Location: Yeongjongdo, Incheon
School Type: Training Centre for Incheon Office of Education
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00
Classroom Hours: 22 teaching hours per week, overtime a possibility
Vacation: 16 working days + national holidays and additional 2 weeks home leave if you stay for a second year
Salary: 2,200,000 to 2,500,000 Korean won per month
Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.
Airfare: Entrance allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won when you arrive in Korea to cover your airfare and an Exit Allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won to cover your airfare before you leave Korea at the end of your contract.
Start dates: June (1 position) July (2 positions)
Contract Length: 1 year with option to renew
Minimum Requirement: Teachers license with teaching experience

Vacation: 21 working days + national holidays and additional 2 weeks
home leave if you stay for a second year
Salary: 1,800,000 to 2,300,000 Korean won per month
Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
School Type: Elementary, Middle and High School
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.

Start dates: August 25th with a one week orientation
Contract Length: 1 year with option to renew

2) Incheon Metropolitan Board of Education (Incheon Metropolitan City)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00
Classroom Hours: 22 teaching hours per week, overtime a possibility
Vacation: 16 working days + national holidays and additional 2 weeks home leave if you stay for a second year
Salary: 1,800,000 to 2,300,000 Korean won per month
Isolation allowance: 200,000 Won per month
Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.
Airfare: Entrance allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won when you arrive in Korea to cover your airfare and an Exit Allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won to cover your airfare before you leave Korea at the end of your contract.

Salary: 2,000,000 to 2,500,000 Korean won per month
