Default Common English Idioms

In my lesson for 5th grade esl student's in Norway- they are to create a book (My English Book), in which they talk about:

1. themselves
2. what they like to do for fun, or interests
3. a few countries that speak English as their native language, some facts about those countries and what they like about them
4. common English expressions
5. anything else they would like to add and pictures (printed and drawn)

ANYWAYS... when I was explaining this lesson, I realized that they had never heard an English idiom before so I searched online and compiled this list of one's I thought they would enjoy.
Feel free to use if you like
