Default Help with get...

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about the expression : get someone to do something and have someone done something which are a bit similar , aren't they?
Is : get something to do something possible?
For example : I couldn't get the boat to move because it was stuck in chippings? Is is correct?
I've checked in my grammar books no answers?
