I don't know how to say this, but I guess that's the book author's problem. My advice is to cover different 'types' of students, and how to interact with them. I think that's my biggest secret as an instructor: to recognize the students who need a lot of encouragement, as opposed to those who think too much encouragement means they doing a bad job. I'm the fourth of six kids in a family that teases and I've found that picking on many students really helps them relax and feel comfortable, if you know how to do it. . .

That's the kind of thing I think comes up too short in most teaching books and websites.

No idea how I'd write it, though.
