Default at once vs. immediately

I had a student present me with this sentence:
"I was able to find Jeff at once."

The sentence strikes me as odd. I would say:
"I was able to find Jeff immediately." or
"I was able to find Jeff right away."

does anyone else have problems with the first sentence?
