☞ What is EPIK?
Epik is the chance to work for Korean public schools sponcered by Korean education board. We are contracting with EPIK and helping the process for EPIK applicants.
☞ Who is eligible for EPIk?
Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language.
• By E2 visa law, EPIK teachers should have a citizenship from one of the following countries : Australia,
Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, South Africa.
• Must have studied from the junior high level(7th grade) and resided for at least 10 years or more in the
country where English is the primary language
• Ethnic Koreans with legal residency in a country where English is the primary language can apply, but must
provide proof of English education beginning from the junior high school level.
Hold a minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
Be a maximum of 62 years of age.
Be mentally and physically healthy
Have a good command of the English language
Have the ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and living
* If you are a male citizen of the Republic of Korea under the age of 35, you must have either completed
mandatory military service or have received an official waive r.

Go to Military Manpower Administration(Military Manpower Administration) for more information about the mandatory military service required by all ethnic Korean males.

☞ Epik’s process
We will begin accepting applications for the spring 2012 semester on October 1, 2011 (Korean Standard Time). Applications submitted before this date will not be accepted.
The deadline to submit applications will be December 1, 2011. This date is tentative and could change depending on circumstances. National EPIK applicants must submit the Spring 2012 EPIK Application.

★The first step : send the application form and two reference letters
★The second step : interview with EPIK
★The third step :- Submit all documents by mail if you pass the interview
☞ The working conditions in EPIK
• Settlement Allowance - 300,000 KRW (one-time payment)
All EPIK Teachers, regardless of level, will be provided with a settlement allowance of 300,000 KRW within the first month of their first contract only.
• Free Furnished Housing Provided - Single studio-type housing
- Free furnished housing or a rent subsidy will be provided by the host POE.
- A leased house/apartment/studio-type room as well as basic household goods will be provided by the host POE.
- Basic household goods include: a bed, a table and chairs, a wardrobe, a gas stove, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a microwave oven, and a TV set.
- Utilities and maintenance fees are not provided for and are the responsibility of the EPIK Teachers.
- Due to variations in housing costs in different regions of Korea, the size and location of the supplied housing can vary from POE to POE.
- If housing is unavailable, a monthly rent subsidy of 400,000 KRW will be provided in lieu of free furnished housing.
- Severance Pay - Equal to approximately one month's salary/year All EPIK Teachers, regardless of level, who successfully complete a one-year contract will be entitled to receive severance pay. Severance pay is equal to approximately one month 's salary.
- Entrance Allowance - Within the first month of the contract, all EPIK Teachers, regardless of level, will be provided with 1,300,000 KRW of Entrance Allowance.
• Renewal Allowance
2,000,000 KRW will be provided upon successful completion and renewal of your contract with the same POE. In this case, the other allowances (Settlement, Entrance, and Exit) do not apply.

☞ The salary scale in EPIK
Salary ranges from 1.8-2.3 million won, depending on level of experience:
1. Lvl. 1 Teacher (2.3mil):
2 years of teaching experience with one of the followings
- MA degree
- Teacher's, TEFL/TESOL/CELTA(100+hrs) Certificate
- Education, English Education or English Language/Literature major
As a level 2+, contract renewal at the same POE
2. Lvl. 2+ Teacher (2.1mil):
MA degree in any discipline, with BA in Education, English
- Education or English Language/Literature
MA degree in Education, English Education or English
- Language/Literature, with BA in any discipline
As a Level 2, contract renewal a the same POE
3. Lvl. 2 Teacher (2.0 mil):
Must have one of the followings
- Teacher's, TEFL/TESOL/CELTA(100+hrs) Certificate
- Education, English Education or English Language/Literature major
- BA degree plus 1 yr full-time English teaching experience
MA degree
4. Lvl. 3 Teacher (1.8 mil):
BA degree in any discipline
• Payday is on the 25th day of each month (or the immediately preceding business day if the 25th is National Holiday or on the weekend)
• Settlement allowance: KRW 300,000 (first year only), paid upon completion of your orientation training
• Rural allowance: if teaching in a rural/fishing/remote area, base monthly salary is increased by KRW 100,000/month
