Arrow Adopt a Rescued Kitten in Korea

Hi there,

Is anyone in Korea looking for a pet?

Consider adopting Georgia (or Georgie, we're not sure yet), an American shorthair kitten we found starving in the street only hours after returning to Korea after summer vacation.

The vet estimates her age at between 2-3 months, but she weighs only 300 grams. She allows herself to be picked up without a fuss, likes to snuggle and enjoys eating dry food. She starts vaccinations in 7 days (on September 4th) after she's gained some weight. She's had one dose of anti-heartworm/ parasite medication.

She is currently residing in a shoebox in our balcony, in Daejeon (South Korea). Despite how sweet she is, we can't keep her. We already have a dog.

Please, if you want further details or know someone (maybe you?) who can provide a warm, safe, loving, indoor home PM me as soon as possible. Thanks a million!

Karen

That kitten is very cute but I'm afraid that we have a dog already and it's a Yorkshire Terrier. It's very aggressive towards any other animal but loves only humans (we think that she thinks that she's a human too!)

Thanks livinginkorea!

I understand your situation. I'm not prepared to mix my dog (a mini schnauzer who also has terrier sensibilities) with a cat in the household, either. We just picked her up and didn't have a plan.

If you know someone who does want a kittie, it would be kind of you to pass on Georgia's pic and info.

All the best to you and your Yorkie!

Karen

Default Adoptable Cats in Korea

Oopsy. I forgot to update and say that the kitten found a home... quite a while ago. Sorry.

Since then, I've visited the KAPS animal shelter in Daegu and taken some photos of adoptable animals there. The photos don't do justice to how lovely their cats really are. In any case, if anyone is interested in adopting a cat from a shelter, some more photos to browse and more information can be found here:

Great to hear that the kitten found a home. I always here such horrible stories about how some Koreans treat animals and particularly how they eat dogs, sometimes not even there own. Very sad
