Smile Any ideas for a good ESL placement test?

I need some ideas or samples of good ESL placement tests for Junior High students. Where to start and where to finish? what should the test include? Thanks for your advise

I just spent quite a bit of time researching tests as part of a level assessment at my school. Are you looking for a written or an oral test? How long do you want the test to run? Do you want it just to point out strengths/weaknesses, to assess communicative ability, or some other aspect?

Thanks for your reply. Well, I need ideas for a written test. It shouldn´t last more than 50 minutes. I need to point out their strengths and weeknesses in order o determine the best program and activities for them.
Thanks again.

Here's a resource that I found really helpful because it has a lot of ideas for assessing students. It's "Authentic Assessment: Getting Started" by Connie Greenleaf.

Sorry that I can't get you more at the moment. I have to go do a teacher observation in ten minutes.

Let me know what you think of the resource.
